
Scheherazad by Farshid Shafiey
Farshid Shafiey is one of the most prominent illustrators today in Iran. His work follows a mixture of Iranian traditions in illustration, but with a profound knowledge of expressionist art and also the works of Gustav Klimt. He has won several international prizes for his work, including:
1. Encouragement prize in 2000 Noma Concourse Japan;
2. Special prize for short Animation film (my Father’s Car) from 2nd Tehran International Animation Festival 2001 (IRAN) Organized by Intellectual Development of children & Young Adults (KANOON)
3. Award Winner of 4 prizes from 6th, 7th & 8th Iranian Press Fair for Best cover& Illustration of Children & Young Adults Magazine (1999, 2000 & 2001)
4. Honor diploma from 1st 2nd KORAN EXHIBITION of illustration (Tehran) 2000&2002
5. Award Winner Khaneh Cinema for short animation film 2001(MY FATHER’S CAR)
6. First prize for best cover in 7th Roshd Festival 2001
7. First prize for the best illustration from Iranian writer society in 5th illustration exhibition of Tehran 2002
8. 2nd prize for collection Cover for book in 5th illustration exhibition of Tehran 2002
9. Honor diploma for illustration in the text section in 5th illustration exhibition of Tehran 2002
10. Runner-up prize in 2002 Noma Concourse Japan;
